About

Emereo has been publishing since 2007, from Brisbane, Australia.

The publishing years

Emereo Publishing built a large catalogue of business and information technology reference titles: certification study material, process and framework guides, and practitioner handbooks across areas like IT service management, cloud computing, project delivery and governance. The catalogue was broad and it was produced at volume, serving readers who wanted a structured reference on a specific subject rather than a general business book.

What we learned from it

Publishing at that scale teaches you which subjects people genuinely need help with, because you can see what sells year after year and what never moves. The pattern was consistent: demand concentrates around work that is mandatory, technical, and poorly served. Compliance obligations. Certification requirements. Process frameworks that people are held to but never trained on properly.

The move into software

That pattern is what moved us into software. A reference document tells someone what they are supposed to do. Software can do part of it for them. The subjects worth building for turned out to be the same ones that sold as reference material, which is a useful thing to already know before you write a line of code.

Today

Emereo now operates as a product studio and publisher. We build focused software products, and we continue to publish practitioner material where a document is the right answer and an application is not. Both come out of the same process: find work people are visibly struggling with, and make the smallest useful thing that helps.
